A DRUG dealer was jailed for more than four years after he pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of 1.6kg of cocaine worth £225,000.
Darren Bennett, aged 36, of Victoria Terrace, Georgetown Tredegar, was sentenced to 52 months in custody at Cardiff Crown Court by Recorder Gregory Treverton-Jones QC.
Outside the court, the officer in charge of the case, Detective Inspector Tuck said: “This has been a lengthy and complex investigation into an organised crime group.
“The investigation team has worked tirelessly to gather significant evidence against Bennett which now reflects in his guilty plea and prison sentence.”
He must also pay a £170 victim surcharge upon his release from prison.
There will be a Proceeds of Crime Act hearing against the defendant on January 4.
