THE 55 year old man arrested following an incident in Risca on Saturday July 4 was released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Police were alerted by the ambulance service at around 6.20pm on Saturday after they attended an address in Navigation Road and found a 33 year old woman with serious injuries.

She was injured after a van collided with her on the driveway of the property.

The woman is in a critical but stable condition in the Royal Gwent Hospital.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident who may have seen or heard anything before or after the relevant time to contact them on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
