Dream wedding winners to tie knot this weekend

THE COUPLE who won a dream wedding will marry tomorrow and rekindle their love after 35 years of being apart.

Roger Williamson and Maureen Turnbull will get married at Bryn Meadows Golf, Hotel and Spa on Saturday July 11.

Now living in Tir-y-Berth, the couple only met after finding each other via the internet. They first met at school where they fell in love. After leaving school they lost contact and led separate lives.

After searching for Maureen for years Roger found her on the social networking website Friends Reunited and wrote her a letter. Maurreen did not reply to Roger's letter for six months and the rest as they say is history. They decided to get married and saw the 'Caerphillys Most Romantic Couple Competition' in the Campaign.

With its picturesque location and luxury facilities, Bryn Meadows is a hugely popular choice for couples marrying in the borough. Every year, tens of couples celebrate their big day in style at the award-winning venue.

Roger said: "We have really enjoyed arranging the wedding from the start. It's been a pleasure to sort everything out.

"Before we won the competition we looking at lots of different ideas of where to get married such as Bulgaria.

"We are very happy that are getting married after all these years."

For nine years the couple didn't realise they were just 19 miles away from each other and only when they met on the website did they meet again.

The couple will enjoy a reception in the luxury Beacons Suite guests receiving the red carpet treatment and sparkling wine on arrival.

A three-course wedding breakfast, complimentary champagne and an evening disco for 50 people will also form part of the prize. The newly married couple will then receive an overnight stay at the hotel with full English breakfast, courtesy of Bryn Meadows. On their first day as a married couple the pair will be treated to full use of the leisure club and spa facilities at Fusion Spa & Wellness located within Bryn Meadows.
