Top cyclists coming to Gwent

ELITE cyclists from across the world will speed through the streets of the Caerphilly county borough this year on the 2012 Tour of Britain.

The local authority’s chief executive Anthony O’Sullivan said he is “delighted” the area has been chosen again to host part of the tour.

Last year thousands of fans lined the area’s streets to support the event.

Riders will cycle from Welshpool to Caerphilly on Friday, September 14 during the event, which lasts from September 9 to 16.
