UK manufacturer Quinn Radiators are toasting success after receiving an award from the British Safety Council for the second year running.

The accolade, which will be formally presented to the Newport-based company at a gala dinner in London later this month, recognises the company’s commitment to making its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Wales a safe place to work for its 250 employees.

Mike Vernall, Quinn Radiators’ health, safety and environment manager, said: “The health, safety and well-being of our employees is at the heart of all we do and we are delighted to be receiving this prestigious award for the second year running.”

The International Safety Award is the latest in a growing list of accolades for the company which is one of Europe’s leading manufacturer of steel panel, towel and design radiators with 35 years’ experience in the heating industry.

It also holds ISO9001 Quality Management System, SO14001 Environment Management System, BES6001 Sustainability and responsible sourcing of construction products and the British Safety Council Five Star Environmental Award.

Alex Botha, chief executive of the British Safety Council, said: “We warmly congratulate Quinn Radiators - and its employees - on gaining an International Safety Award.

“The success criteria are challenging and rightly reflect the importance of ensuring the risks of injury and ill health in the workplace are properly controlled. Awards have an important part to play in driving improvements in health and safety management year on year. Quinn Radiators should be rightly proud of their achievement.”

The International Safety Awards scheme, now in its 56th year, is open to UK and international organisations of all sizes, across all industries and seeks to promote high standards of health and safety management practice in order to prevent workplace injury and ill health.
