Lloyd Davies, managing director of Newport property lawyers, Convey Law, has been appointed as Ty-Hafan’s first corporate ambassador.

The position is in recognition of the support that Mr Davies’ company, Convey Law, has provided to the children’s hospice over the last four years.

In 2010, Convey Law launched its pioneering Free Legal Fee competition and the company has since donated almost £150,000 to Ty-Hafan. The competition offers clients with the opportunity to win a refund of their conveyancing legal fees by donating £10 to Ty-Hafan.

In addition, the staff at Convey Law have raised funds through monthly dress down days, cake sales and parties, as well as sponsoring and taking part in numerous Ty-Hafan fundraising events including the Midnight Sleep Walk, the Taff Trail Cycle and this year’s inaugural Rainbow Run.

As a corporate ambassador, Mr Davies will be encouraging other businesses and associations to fulfill their corporate social responsibility and work with them to support and promote the work undertaken at Ty Hafan.

Mr Davies joins a select group of Ty-Hafan ‘family’, ‘charity’ and ‘celebrity’ ambassadors who work with the hospice, including Wales rugby player Leigh Halfpenny.

Mr Davies said: “I am honored to be in this position and to be able to work with Ty-Hafan. Working with the hospice is a fantastic and eye-opening experience. The work they do is nothing short of wonderful and to be able to support them in whatever way possible is a privilege."

Alison Stallard, head of business and community fundraising at Ty-Hafan, said: “We are delighted to have appointed Lloyd as our first corporate ambassador. Convey Law has been avid supporters for many years and has raised a tremendous amount to support our work with life-limited children and their families from across Wales."
