Leading corporate and commercial lawyer Andrew Ellis has joined growing Monmouth-based law firm Rubric.

Andrew, who joins Rubric as a partner, advises on corporate matters such as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, business formation and corporate governance.

He also advises on commercial matters and contracts, including the supply of goods and services, e-commerce, website terms and compliance, distribution and logistics, technology licensing, marketing, franchising, data protection and confidentiality.

Prior to joining Rubric, Andrew worked at Linklaters in the City and in Hong Kong, and then at the Boston office of a leading US firm.

He then spent nine years as vice president and European general counsel of a Fortune 500 company, responsible for all legal matters across four retail brands in the UK and Europe.

The appointment of Andrew follows that of private client lawyer Claire Lewis, who has also joined the firm at its recently opened Monmouth office, in Singleton Court, Wonastow Road.

Andrew said: “Rubric’s innovative approach to delivering legal services is a very attractive proposition. We are able to offer a top-level service to corporate and commercial clients at costs which are considerably lower than those which they would be asked to pay elsewhere.”

“With his experience at globally-renowned law firms both in the UK and the US, as well as top-level experience in industry with a leading consumer brand, Andrew is another outstanding addition to our team in the South West,” adds Rubric partner James Howell.

“Rubric offers a genuinely different legal service and we have seen an extremely positive response to our proposition. Our cost efficient advice, provided by top quality lawyers such as Andrew and Claire, has clearly had a real impact on our clients and we are seeing a growing demand for our services.”
