Paramount Interiors has made a key appointment to its board as part of the company’s continuing strategy to increase its share of the UK office design, fit-out and furniture market.

The business, which is headquartered in St Mellons, near Newport, has appointed Alasdair McIntyre to the newly created position of sales and marketing director.

Mr McIntyre joins from global retail interior design agency, Double Europe, which he co-founded in 2009 and where he was managing director prior to a management buy-out in January 2014.

During his time at the Bristol-based company, revenues grew to more than £5m with clients including blue chip brands such as Nike, FitFlop, Havaianas, Timberland and Vans.

Prior to establishing Double Europe, he was head of new business for the German retail design specialists, ARNO Group.

Mr McIntyre joins Paramount at a time when it is targeting significant growth in the number of design, fit-out and furniture projects that it undertakes in the UK and in particular within the London market, where it currently has a sales office.

He will be responsible for the onward strategy and growth of the business, including all personnel and external marketing partners.

Nigel Roberts, managing director of Paramount, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Alasdair to the board at Paramount. We are a very ambitious company and we look for that trait in anyone that we recruit. I can safely say that Alasdair brings that to our team.

"He has worked with some of the world’s biggest brands and shares the same drive and commitment to the highest standards of design, quality and service that we deliver consistently to our clients. I’m sure that he will play a leading role in helping us to achieve our ambitions over the coming years.”
