One of the country’s leading finishing companies has launched an exclusive new service to expand its client offering.

Chepstow-based SD Sealants & Cosmetic Repair has added glass repair to its portfolio after securing exclusive rights to a unique new system for getting marks out of window panes, leaving them good as new, without distorting the existing glass.

Glass repair can be an expensive process so companies often write off damaged panes rather than pay to repair them. However, SD’s system is a far more cost effective solution which means that waste is kept to a minimal and by training all cosmetic repair staff in the technique, it means that they can do all repairs in minimal site visits.

Nick Jones, managing director of Chepstow-based SD Sealants & Cosmetic Repair, said: “People outside of the construction industry are amazed by the level of secrecy which surrounds glass repair – people are constantly trying to find new suppliers and new methods and when they find one that works, they guard it fiercely. However, in this case, we genuinely believe that we have found a method that no one else is using which gives us a real advantage over other companies in the field.

“We are constantly striving to make our finishing offering the best on the market and by adding glass repair to our portfolio we believe we are taking another step in the right direction.”

SD launched its cosmetic repair business earlier this year when it identified an opportunity for a complete finishing service, carrying out last minute repairs to property as well as offering mastic application.

Nick said: “Our cosmetic repair offering has really taken off and we have already employed a number of new operatives who have been trained to our exacting standards. However, our reputation is growing all the time and we’re hoping to take on more staff across the country.”

SD Sealants & Cosmetic Repair offers UK-wide coverage through its network of offices and regularly works with a wide variety of well-known construction companies including BAM, Balfour Beatty, Willmott Dixon, Mace, Sir Robert McAlpine and Morgan Sindall.
