Wales’ only FTSE 100 company Admiral Group, which has an office in Newport city centre, has been named as one of the finalists in the 2014/5 European Business Awards.

Selected as one of 10 Ruban d’Honneur recipients in the ‘Employer of the Year’ category, Admiral Group will now go on to compete in the final round of judging, resulting in 11 overall category winners to be announced later this year.

Ceri Assiratti, head of people services in Admiral, said: “We are excited to reach the Ruban d’Honneur stage of the European Business Awards. At Admiral, we are very proud of our staff, putting them at the heart of everything we do. We now look forward to describing to the judges in more detail how we are achieving success in a category that we are very passionate about.”

The 110 Ruban d’Honneur recipients were chosen from 709 National Champions by an esteemed panel of judges made up of European business and political leaders, academics and entrepreneurs. For a full list of all the Ruban d’Honneur recipients, go to http://www.businessawardseurope.com/RDH/2014.

Adrian Tripp, CEO of The European Business Awards, said: “As one of our Ruban d’Honneur recipients, Admiral Group is a great example of innovation, ethics and financial success, and I know they inspire other businesses in Europe. We wish them well in the final selection stage and look forward to announcing the overall category winners at our Gala Event.”

Running alongside the competition’s internal judging process is a public vote, which will decide the ‘Public Champions’ of the competition.

Voting stays open until February 26, 2015, so there is still time to vote for the Admiral Group. Visit www.businessawardeurope.com to register. The national winners of the public vote will be announced on March 3.
