A Gwent-based manufacturer has dedicated its annual charity golf tournament to the memory of a co-worker and raised more than £2,000 for a cancer support charity.

The event, hosted by Newbridge-based Axiom Manufacturing Services at the Celtic Manor Resort was attended by the company’s clients, suppliers and business partners from across the UK, to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support in the memory of previous Axiom employee Tony Hayes, who passed away in 2014.

David Davies, managing director at Axiom Manufacturing, said: “The charity was selected, not only in recognition of the fantastic work it does, but because the battle cancer sufferers fight everyday personally touched all of us here at Axiom when we lost our dear colleague Tony Hayes last year to this horrific disease.

“We thank all of our clients, suppliers and businesses partners from across the UK who attended our charity tournament for helping us to support Macmillan’s outstanding work.”
