Paul Fosh Auctions has retained its position as the premier auction house after once more coming top of the sales charts in Wales.

The Newport-based property auction house is at number one in the national auction league after selling 339 properties at a total value of £23.7m in 2016.

This is the ninth year in a row the auction house has achieved the premier position for the number and value of properties sold.

The leading property business has maintained its dominance in this intensely competitive auction sales industry in Wales and also notched up a strong position in the UK rankings.

Figures reveal that Newport-based Paul Fosh Auctions sold the majority of the properties offered for sale at auction in Wales during 2016.

The reputable annual auction sales chart, a highly regarded guide within the industry, is compiled by UK industry experts the Essential Information Group (EIG) and published in association with industry ‘Bible’ Estates Gazette.

Paul Fosh Auctions managing director Paul Fosh, who again played host to BBC’s hugely popular Homes Under the Hammer TV show at his sales during most of 2016, said: “The past 12 months were again tough but we all worked hard and I am once more delighted with the excellent results that our team has delivered.

“The entire team worked tirelessly, firstly to get the vast range of commercial and domestic stock into the catalogue and then to do their utmost to get these lots sold at auction. The market place is ever changing and we have to adapt to those changes. To that end we have introduced a number of innovations, one of which is our online offering.

“We were very pleased to accommodate Homes Under the Hammer throughout 2016 and delighted that they are with us in 2017. Property auctions and buying property of all types at auction, such as commercial, residential, land, churches, pubs and public toilets has become increasingly popular over the years as people become more familiar with the process. As a result, many of those who are new to the procedure need a high degree of hand holding.

“The better knowledge about buying at auction has been kindled by increased exposure on TV, including by the BBC’s Homes Under the Hammer which we have been delighted to accommodate at our auctions in Cardiff over the months.”

“We’re only too happy to lend that hand of support and guidance. That is a constant though in business I believe and something that all businesses should strive for, excellent customer service. We will always have customer service at the heart of our business.

"Our most recent auction had some 100 properties listed which covered almost every conceivable type of property even a police station and public toilet and we’re pleased to report that the room was absolutely packed on the night with the majority of lots being sold.

The next Paul Fosh Auctions sale which will be held at the Park Inn Hotel, Circle Way East, Llanedyrn, Cardiff, on Thursday, March16, starting at 5pm.
