BBC Wales’ business correspondent Brian Meechan will be key note speaker at the Torfaen Business Exhibition, which takes place on Wednesday May 17 at Cwmbran Stadium.

Brian covers business stories for Wales Today, and also presents the weekly programme Wales at Work.

He has extensive knowledge of the UK business world, regularly interviewing the CEOs of international companies and small business owners alike. He will take to the stage at 10.30am.

A full programme is currently being planned, with a networking breakfast, speakers and workshops.

Delegates will have the opportunity to network with others in the Torfaen business community and there are opportunities for businesses to book stands to showcase their products or services.

The first event in 2015 attracted more than 50 exhibitors, while more than 200 people passed through the doors.

Dennis Ricketts, chair of Torfaen Business Voice, said: “We are delighted to have Brian as our key speaker for this event. His position as the business correspondent for BBC Wales gives him a unique insight into the Wales-wide business community. We are grateful to Johnseys Estates for providing sponsorship towards the event.

“Torfaen is only a small county but we punch above our weight when it comes to business with a huge a variety of independent businesses and innovative entrepreneurs.

“The business exhibition is an excellent opportunity for businesses in Torfaen and the wider Gwent area to showcase their services, network, make new connections and hear from some fantastic speakers.”

The business exhibition takes place at Cwmbran Stadium on Wednesday May 17 from 9am until 1pm.

Entry to the exhibition is free, although booking is essential, while stands start from £80. Entry and stands can be booked via www.southwalesbusiness.co.uk/en/Business-Club/TBVExhibition2017/TBVExhibition.aspx
