Property landlords from across South Wales received advice and support in light of the recent budget as part of the bi-monthly Gwent Landlord Forum.

The event, held by Cwmbran-based Rubin Lewis O’Brien, Green & Co Accountants and Tax Advisors, and lettings agency SerenLiving, took place at the Parkway Hotel.

Opening the evening was Leanne Flanagan, tax senior with Green & Co Accountants, who talked about the new changes introduced by the March budget, how this affects landlords and what those with a property portfolio need to be aware of.

The second speaker was Stephanie Taylor, of HMO Heaven, who discussed the right time to invest, how to increase rental income on buy-to-let properties and real life case studies demonstrating how landlords can double their rental income.

The final speaker was head of wills, trusts and probate at Rubin Lewis O’Brien, Damian Lines.

He gave landlords advice on the important aspects of estate planning, and emphasised the vital role it plays in planning for the future.

Sam George, managing partner at Rubin Lewis O’Brien, said: “It’s great to see the forum grow with more and more people attending every session. The three speakers were great again, providing our landlords with informative insight into complex topics. Our continued aim is to provide local landlords with as much information and support as possible, and attendees regularly feedback to us how much they enjoy the events.”

The next Gwent Landlord Forum will take place at the Parkway Hotel in Cwmbran on May 31. For more information, contact Rubin Lewis O’Brien, Green & Co or SerenLiving.
