The finalists of the 2014 Monmouthshire Business Awards have been announced.

The 35 shortlisted firms in 12 categories range from start-ups and micro-businesses to multinational organisations.

The finalists are: Excellence in Digital Technology Innovation - Pocket Mariner, Wye Media, PMR Products; Hospitality, Travel and Tourism - The Angel Hotel, St Pierre Resort, Llansantffraed Court; Young Entrepreneur - That Media Group, Nanoprotex, Victoria Valentine Bridal; Innovation in Business - Homeglow, Wye Media, Gwent Energy CIC; Excellence in Marketing - Mabey Bridge, Victoria Valentine Bridal, That Media Group; Company of the Year - Hicks Logistics, Farm Visit, Shampooch, HJ Weir; Responsible Business - AFF, Hicks Logistics, Anthony A Davies; Company Demonstrating Sustained Growth - Hicks Logistics, Reid Lifting, Keen Attachments; Most Promising Start-up - Home Glow Products, Victoria Valentine Bridal, Baroque Boutique; Best Green Business - Abergavenny Food Festival, Gwent Energy CIC, Northern Automotive Systems, Usk Garden Centre; Excellence in Retailing - Victoria Valentine Bridal, Usk Garden Centre, ACT Timber.

The Judges’ Choice award, introduced last year, will be presented to one of the category finalists deemed to be the best entrant overall.

The winner of this award will be determined by this year’s celebrity judges Gurpareet Bains, celebrity chef and Sunday Times bestselling author, and David Jamilly, serial entrepreneur who has appeared on Channel 4’s The Secret Millionaire.

The winners will be revealed at a dinner in October held at St Pierre, a Marriott golf and country club, near Chepstow.
