One of the UK’s leading recruitment and training companies has made a key appointment to strengthen its well-established marketing and communications department at its Newport head office.

Chloe Vinden has been appointed as communications officer for Acorn and will be responsible for the development and co-ordination of the company’s external and internal communications activity, including campaign planning and promotions, development of social media, PR and events.

Chloe, 22, graduated with a degree in journalism and politics from the University of Central Lancashire in the summer of 2013 and has since gained experience in journalism and public relations.

She said: “I’d heard great things about Acorn and the fact that they are a leading recruitment and training company really appealed to me. This role in particular interested me as I have always wanted to work on communciations role in-house with a focus on a strong, reputable brand.

With more than 20 years in the business, Acorn has its UK headquarters at the Celtic Springs Business Park in Newport and operates from 38 branches across Wales and the South West, North West and South East of England. Acorn also has international operations working in Europe, Australia the Middle East and the USA.

Acorn places up to 6,500 people into the workplace with around 850 different clients each week. The group also delivers training to more than 1,000 individuals and makes 1,700 permanent placements every year.
