Newport-based auctioneer Paul Fosh was the guest speaker at the third Cwmbran Landlord Forum hosted by QualitySolicitors Rubin Lewis O'Brien at the Parkway Hotel.

Paul Fosh set up his property auctioneer company in 2001, following a long career in estate agency with companies across South Wales. It has grown into one of the leading property auction houses in Wales.

Mr Fosh gave the local landlords several tips for buying at auction including making sure to check the legal pack on a property, to bid confidently and to know your price limit.

He also advised buyers not to have their heart set on just one property as if it seems perfect it's likely that most other people in the room will have had the same thought.

The forum has had a very positive response from landlords in the area.

Attendee John Cooper, a local landlord with several properties, said: “I attended the forum and found the presentation given very informative and inspirational. I plan to attend future events and I have already recommended the event to other landlords.”

The Landlord Forum aims to be an educational platform where local landlords can discuss their experiences and bring issues to light in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Douglas Haig, vice-chairman and director for Wales of the Residential Landlords Association and chairman of the Cardiff Landlord Forum, said: "The RLA and QualitySolicitors Rubin Lewis O'Brien are committed to promoting forums and other educational platforms to help develop a better understanding of the private rented sector. These events are essential to help share information with landlords across South Wales."

The next event will be on Tuesday April 14 when Douglas Haig will be speaking on new legislation changes which will affect Landlords in the area.
