Former Bath, England and British Lions prop Gareth Chilcott will open the M4 Business Network’s 2015 calendar at the club’s first event of the year next week.

Those attending the event on Tuesday, March 10, at Newport’s Celtic Manor Resort will be treated to stories of Gareth’s rugby career as well as how he made the switch to the world of business after he stopped playing.

Gareth went on to have a successful career as a sports travel entrepreneur, arranging sports tours for fans to locations across the world.

The event takes place in the middle of the RBS 6 Nations tournament and Gareth will also share his insights into the challenges faced by the Wales and England teams as well as his predictions for this summer’s Rugby World Cup.

M4 Business Network chairman and managing partner of UHY Hacker Young Paul Byett said: “It is our pleasure to have the presence of Gareth Chilcott to kick off our 2015 calendar. I’m sure he will have many tales of dressing room antics and also share some insights into the challenges facing rugby players after they retire from the game and how he seized the opportunity to set up his own business.

“Gareth will bring some interesting insights into the world of business to the event and share some secrets of his success with our guests. We are planning an exciting line-up of speakers for this year and will be sharing the list of speakers soon.”

Current sponsors of the club include UHY Hacker Young Chartered Accountants, the South Wales Argus, University of South Wales, Working Word, Barclays Business, Thomas Carroll, The Celtic Manor, Carbon Financial Planning, Newport City Council, McAlister & Co Insolvency Practitioners and South Wales Chamber of Commerce.
