A Newport man is heading up a new office for national communications agency Remarkable Group in Cardiff.

Senior account manager William Morgan, who lives in Newport and is a former Rougemont School pupil, is driving the expansion into Wales through his understanding of the Welsh planning environment and ability to deliver effective campaigns.

He has previously delivered high profile consultation programmes and public affairs campaigns for the likes of Tata Steel, Aldi, EDF Energy, Barratt Homes, Vattenfall and Taylor Wimpey.

He said: “It is a time of upheaval within the Welsh planning system; with policy changes and the imminent arrival of Planning (Wales) Bill, there is much uncertainty in the sector about what this means for the country and how it will affect the delivery of the new infrastructure and development that needs to happen if Wales is to continue its economic recovery.

“With the emphasis now on engaging the local community at the earliest opportunity and keeping them involved throughout the development process, we can provide our clients with that extra degree of certainty, through devising and implementing strategies to engage, listen to and, where possible, bring on-side local communities and decision makers where local development needs to happen.”
