Newport-based sports nutrition company JBC has signed Great Britain Olympic athlete Brett Morse as its latest brand ambassador.

The 26-year-old from Penarth, who first picked up a discus at the age of 15 at a school sports day, has gone from strength to strength, from representing Wales at British schools championships to becoming the youngest athlete in discus history to make a World Championship final at senior level.

However it’s the next two years which will define Brett’s career, as he represents team GB in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

Brett said: “As an athlete it is very important that I choose the correct sports nutrition sponsor for many reasons, first and foremost the products have to be safe which means they have been HFL batch tested, to ensure that there is no cross contamination issues.

“Secondly the quality of the product has to be very high. It is very important that your body is getting the best fuel source possible to achieve what you want it to do. I look at it like this – you would not fill a Ferrari engine with diesel so why put cheap fuel into your body?"

Rachel, Clarke of JBC said “We are very proud to have an athlete of Brett’s calibre on board and are delighted to be supplying him with all his nutritional supplements through Rio 2016 and beyond. Brett’s attitude and work ethic means he fits right in with our current team of ambassadors such as Amanda Gisby, Darryl Taylor, Mizan Rahman, Jason Vaughan, Chloe Beth and Thumper Todd.”

JBC works with and has supplied sports supplements to various professional teams and athletes including Swansea City Football Club, Wales Rugby League, Royal Navy Rugby, Oxford United Football Club and now GB Olympic athlete Brett Morse.
