Smartrood has opened a new manufacturing facility in Cwmbran creating 20 new jobs.

Since entering the market, Smartroof has revolutionised roof construction in the housing sector with its innovative roof panel system which can be installed in hours, not days.

The Cwmbran facility is Smartroof’s second manufacturing base with the UK headquarters and primary manufacturing facility located in Swadlincote, Midlands.

This new venture will allow Smartroof to better service its customer base in the southern regions of the UK, whilet also creating 20 new jobs in the Torfaen area.

Smartroof has invested £150,000 in a factory fit out and production equipment for the new facility.

A further £160,000 of capital expenditure will be invested throughout 2016 to help the company meet the growing demand for their products.

Peter Nordon, Smartroof managing director, said: “We are very excited to announce this significant investment to expand and advance our manufacturing capabilities in the southern region of the UK. As well as bringing new jobs to the area this facility will help Smartroof to better serve their customers.”

Smartroof plans to grow the business in Cwmbran and create a second production line for their new product: floor cassettes. There will also be research and development carried out in Cwmbran to create new innovative products which will further increase sales and the workforce in the area.
