MANAGING Director Robin Hall joined his Newport-based finance firm staff to Clean for the Queen outside their premises on Bridge Street in Newport.

The Clean for the Queen campaign aims to help celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday in June by encouraging businesses and private individuals to clear up litter and rubbish outside their premises and the team from Kymin were keen to take part.

The Kymin tidy up team filled several bags full of rubbish, which was picked up at the front of and adjacent to the firm’s headquarters in the city.

Robin said: “It was a great team effort from everyone. It’s really quite surprising just how much litter there was and how much that we managed to collect in a relatively short time”.

“We always strive to keep the front of the office building clean and tidy and litter free but on this occasion we also ventured further afield to the steps at the side of the building, into the nearby car park and the footbridge across the railway.”

Robin is now hoping other businesses in the city will now get involved in this initiative.

Kymin is set to become ‘marooned’ in a few weeks’ time for a number of months when Bridge Street is closed due to work on the railway bridge for the electrification project.

Robin said: “The footbridge is to remain open and people will be passing up and down the steps by our office during that period, so we’re keen for the area to be as presentable as possible reflecting a clean and tidy appearance for the city of Newport.”
