Little Star Workshop in Chepstow has gone from strength to strength since it opened earlier this year.

The brainchild of local mum Ghalia Francis, Little Star Workshop came into being after she became a mum and was looking for ways to keep her active toddler busy.

She said: "As Rocco became a toddler and one who doesn't stop from morning till night, living in Chepstow I soon realised there was a gap missing in the market for children.

"Inspired by my fearless, fun-loving boy and the stuff he loves to do I decided to open a bright but creative space for children - something different to the everyday soft play which is available. Starting a children's workshop was never the plan, but the old cliché is very real: your whole world changes once you have a baby."

Little Star Worshop, which is on Moor Street in Chepstow town centre, has a coffee shop at the back where parents and carers can enjoy a hot or cold drink and some cake while their children stay and play.

Workshops include cookie house decoration, summer flower cupcakes, cookie decoration and a Little Star Workshop of the Week.

Prices and duration vary and children always get a special snack and can take their creation home.

The business, which has created three jobs, also offers bespoke parties. Two staff members hold childcare qualifications and Ghalia is a qualified teacher and a nursery nurse

Future plans for the business include opening other spaces in the surrounding areas including Bristol.

Ghalia said: "As the space is getting busier, I am constantly meeting new people who are really positive about what I have created. It is therefore my goal to open in more locations and help to offer mums, dads, grandparents and carers a special place where children can participate in fun, enjoyable and creative play."
