Monmouthshire-based Select Security has been shortlisted for two awards at the Monmouthshire Business Awards.

The firm has been backed by Tata Steel subsidiary UK Steel Enterprise on its path to growth.

In 2013 UKSE provided support for a six-figure funding package to help Select open its new headquarters just outside Abergavenny, and to put the company on the path to growth.

Select is a finalist in the ‘Innovation in Business’ and ‘Excellence in Technology Innovation’ categories at the 2016 awards, following the successful launch of their bespoke sales and survey application (app).

The iPad based app, which has been developed by the team at Select, enables sales staff to quickly capture customer’s details, conduct site surveys, prepare quotations and deliver instant proposals to clients via email.

Sales director for Select Leon Oliver said: “We are all extremely proud to have been shortlisted for these prestigious awards. The app, which was built by a local specialist company, represented a significant investment for the business, but it has already made a huge impact.

“The app has replaced a vast amount of paperwork, which has greatly streamlined our business processes. Our sales staff can now complete client proposals in real-time, and email a proposal whilst we are still on site, speeding up the process significantly, and helping us to deliver unparalleled customer service.

“This innovative app has already helped Select secure a number of high-profile clients, including Chepstow Racecourse, Dyfed Powys Police (Brecon Town Centre), and the AA Building in Cardiff.”

Glyn Thomas, of UK Steel Enterprise, said: “I am delighted that Select Security is continuing to develop and bring forward its own innovative products. The company is clearly benefiting from the investment package that was put in place, and is executing its business plan.

“It is very pleasing to see Select shortlisted for these awards, which is thoroughly deserved.”
