LEADING Gwent serviced office business Basepoint, which adopted St David’s Hospice Care as its charity of the year, has demonstrated its continuing support for the charity.

Basepoint, which has raised £10,000 for the Gwent-based charity, is now supporting a water station at the Admiral City of Newport Half Marathon 2017.

The offices business, overlooking the Severn Bridge and estuary in Chepstow, has previously been involved in a range of exciting fundraising events in aid of the charity which include the Dalmatian Bike Ride, the Once in a Blue Moon midnight ascent of Pen y fan, the Monmouth Raft Race, the Newport Transporter Bridge Abseil, the Christmas Fair at St Pierre, Chepstow and a pre-Six Nations Lloyds Rugby lunch in Cardiff.

St David’s Hospice Care provides vital support to people with life threatening illnesses and to their families, to face the challenge of reaching the end of their lives with dignity and respect.

The Admiral City of Newport Half Marathon will be staged on Sunday, March 5, 2017.

Christine Vorres, organiser of the event, said: “We are delighted that Basepoint have come on board as a water station sponsor for the event and we are now looking for a few others to follow in their footsteps in a similar way as sponsors.”

Basepoint Chepstow centre manager Ian Mitchell said: “It’s been a great deal of fun supporting St David’s Hospice Care over the past couple of years. We’re pleased to continue our support for the charity and the wonderful work it does throughout our community.”

Basepoint Business Centres specialise in the development and operation of flexible business, innovation and enterprise centres. The business is owned by The ACT Foundation, a leading grant making charity, dedicated to improving the quality of life of those in need.

Each centre is dedicated to fundraising for a selected charity and The ACT Foundation match funds any money raised by the chosen charity, up to the value of £10,000 per centre.
