A husband and wife team who run a dairy farm in Monmouthshire have launched a business delivering their goods direct to customers' homes.

Mead Farm Foods is based on the Gwent Levels in Redwick, near Caldicot, and is run by sixth-generation farmers Lawrence and Izabela Hembrow with their two young children, William and Abigail.

At the heart of the business is a newly-created milk bottling facility which is supplied with the milk from their herd of Holstein Friesian cattle. In keeping with sustainable practice, the farm’s green credentials include the use of solar panels to power the dairy with deliveries being made using electric vehicles.

In addition to the freshly bottled milk, they also produce farmhouse butter and fresh cream.

The direct-to-door delivery service also provides all the ingredients needed to make the perfect local breakfast, including Monmouthshire eggs, and award-winning bacon.

Lawrence said: “We believe so strongly in the value and importance of good quality food for our own family, we want to share it with our neighbours across the county too, that’s why we use the slogan ‘from our home to yours’.”

With backgrounds in food distribution, Lawrence and Izabela understand the importance of excellent customer service. Mead Farm Foods has a simple and clear ordering system which is designed to accommodate the needs of all customers. It will allow orders to be placed in person, by telephone, text or via the website.

Izabela said: “We have a really exciting 12 months ahead of us, we are so passionate about our relationship with food and the countryside, we just want to make it more accessible to others too”.

Mead Farm Foods delivers direct to homes in Redwick, areas of Undy, Magor and Caldicot. They are also taking orders from local shops, cafes and restaurants.
