Newport financial services business Kymin has demonstrated its continued support for St David’s Hospice Care by boosting its involvement with the Admiral City of Newport Half Marathon.

The Newport headquartered business, which has volunteered support for the 13.1 mile event since its inception, has gone a step further and become a sponsor of one of the four water stations.

Kymin will be based at Blaina Wharf, near the SDR Bridge, at mile 12 of the 2017 event.

Robin Hall, managing director of the business, which is based at Bridge Street, Newport, will operate the water station along with other Kymin staff and volunteers on the day.

Robin said: “The half marathon is such a marvellous event not just for St David’s Hospice Care but for the city of Newport as a whole. It’s such a great advertisement for everything that is good about the city and we were delighted to offer our backing as sponsors when approached.”

Kymin is a strong supporter of St David’s Hospice Care having taken part, and backed numerous events in recent years. This year the business will be taking part in the Three Peaks of Wales, are shirt sponsors of the Tour de Gwent and have a seven-member team preparing to scale Pen Y Fan on the Moon Walk.

Robin said: “St David’s Hospice Care does such marvellous work and we’re pleased to be able to show our support as much as we can for what they do throughout our community.”

St David’s Hospice Care provides vital support to people with life threatening illnesses and to their families, to face the challenge of reaching the end of their lives with dignity and respect.

The Admiral City of Newport Half Marathon will be staged on Sunday, March 5, 2017.

Christine Vorres, organiser of the Admiral City of Newport Half Marathon 2017, said: “We are very pleased that Kymin is once more involved with this event and that it has boosted its support even further this time with its valuable sponsorship of a water station. We now just need to find a couple more sponsors to sign up for the pair of remaining water stations on the route.”

If you are interested in sponsoring a water station, the package includes: four banner flags, one Correx board, logo on the website, branded bibs/t-shirts for volunteers and social media exposure.
