Newport-based financial firm Kymin is focusing its support for the South Wales Argus 125 Appeal Photography competition in aid of St David’s Hospice Care.

The financial services business, based in Bridge Street, Newport, has agreed to provide trophies for the winners of the categories.

Kymin managing director Robin Hall said: “We are happy to snap up this opportunity to further develop our support for the South Wales Argus 125 Appeal by supporting the photography competition with the trophies for winners.”

Kymin joins Celtic Manor Resort, which is supporting the competition by providing five-star prizes for the winners.

Celtic Manor Resort is providing dinner, bed and breakfast for two for the winner of the 17 and above category and a family activity day for four for the winner of the 16 and under group.

The photographic competition, which is open to all and has the theme of ‘Heritage’, is being sponsored by Pontypool-based Johnsey Estates UK Ltd, owners of Pontypool’s Mamhilad Park Estate.

The competition is supporting the South Wales Argus 125 Appeal in aid of St David's Hospice Care. All entry fees for the competition will be donated to St David’s Hospice Care.

James Crawford, chief executive officer of competition organisers JEUK, said: “We really can’t thank Celtic Manor Resort enough for agreeing to provide these two fantastic prizes for the winners of our charity photography competition and also Kymin for agreeing to provide the trophies.

“The 125 appeal photography competition is looking for photographs on the theme of heritage. For example they could be of an historical industrial structure, an old factory or a historical works scene. Equally it could depict people who represent heritage for example school friends or family members. The list is endless but also might include old vehicles sport or even wildlife.”

Photography by winners and some from other entrants may be displayed on walls at JEUK’s refurbished offices at Mamhilad Park Estate, Pontypool and also at St David’s Hospice Care’s new 15-bed in-patient facility being completed in Malpas, Newport.

A spread of photography from the competition will be published in the South Wales Argus.
