Singapore Airlines has launched commercial A380 flights from Singapore to Sydney equipped with new cabin products manufactured in Gwent.
These new suites were designed by Pierrejean Design Studio and manufactured by Zodiac Seats UK.
They offer an exclusive passenger environment with a double bed in a private suite.
Cwmbran-based Zodiac Seats UK was challenged to develope first class products to support Singapore Airlines in developing a truly unique solution. Zodiac Seats UK conducted more than 100 certification tests, released more than 2,000 engineering drawings and manufactured a suite comprising more than 9,000 parts per shipset.
Secretary of State for Wales Alun Cairns said: “It is fantastic to see a company based in the heart of south Wales make such an impact on the global stage. I am delighted that Zodiac Aerospace has formed such a significant partnership with Airbus to sell cabin products to a major international airline. This is a Welsh manufacturing success story that is helping to inspire companies across the whole of Wales to export their goods and services to the world.”
