LAST year's winners of Caerphilly's Got Talent have urged other hopefuls to apply for the 2009 talent search, after their successful year performing all over South Wales.

Group Triawd, Joanne Griffiths, Caitlin Hudson & Rhianna Davis, all pupils at Ysgol Gyfyn Cwm Rhymni, haven't stopped performing since becoming the first ever winners of the county borough's biggest talent search.

Band member Joanne said: "Winning the first ever Caerphilly's Got Talent Competition in 2008 was a fantastic experience in itself. The publicity we have had following our success in the competition has meant that we have become known across a number of county boroughs and in demand to perform."

The girls have made guest appearances with a number of local choirs - Cefn Hengoed Ladies, Ystrad Mynach Male Voice, Treharris Male Voice and the Rhymney Silurian Choir. They have done a number of charity concerts - Macmillan Cancer, Barnardos and the British Legion.

Band member Caitlin said: "One of our biggest thrills was singing in St David's Hall, Cardiff in the Caerphilly Showcase concert - our biggest venue yet and it has certainly given us a taster for the bigger stages and audiences!"

Future performances for Triawd include singing at the Big Cheese, at the Celtic Manor Resort, Newport and on the Tesco Stage at the Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff.

Rhianna from the band said: "We love to perform together and Caerphilly's Got Talent has given us the stepping stone to have a lot more opportunities to do so."

Auditions for this year's contest will be held on Saturday July 25 at Caerphilly Castle, Saturday August 1 at Caerphilly Leisure Centre and Saturday August 8 at Blackwood Miners' Institute.
