AN ARTICLE which appeared in the Campaign last week appealing for information on the whereabouts of a stolen 31-year-old statue led to the ornament being returned to the owner.

Pensioner Edwina Hunt from St Margaret's Road contacted the Campaign after the statue was taken from her front garden.

Mrs Hunt, 83 said: "We are very pleased to get her back. She is in a bit of a state now and will need some work to make her look better.

"We were surprised to get an anonymous phone call tipping us off to the whereabouts of the statue and went up to have look. We informed to police and they brought it back to our house.

"We did not expect to see her again."
