Ryan Williams with fiance Jovi Slade
A YOUNG couple from Caerphilly is asking readers to vote for them so that they can win their dream wedding.
Ryan Williams, 22 and fiance Jovi Slade, 23 are in the running to win the Heros Wedding which will include everything from the venue to a photographer, flowers and much more. The couple met on Facebook.
They went to St Martin's School and on the same street but they had never spoken until Jovi accepted Ryan as a friend and they started messaging each other.
He tried to convince her to go on holiday as his friend had cancelled at the last minute because he was ill.
Instead they met for a meal and have been together ever since even when Jovi was posted to RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus with her job as an aeromedic (a medic who is trained to give treatment on an aircraft) for the RAF.
She has been treated the wounded from Afghanistan conflict who are flown to the island before being transferred to the UK.
Ryan proposed to Jovi in February this year when he surprised her in Cyprus at a works meal.
She said: "We finished our main meals and decided to go for a dessert, whilst looking at the menu the waiter comes over to our table and hands me a tray.
I was confused looking at this tray with a candle, rose and sweets which spelt out I love you, while I turned around to ask the waiter if there had been a mistake I saw Ryan down on one knee asking me to marry him, bursting into tears and being speechless I nodded my head while everyone cheered for us.
It was like a fairytale."Ryan is training to be a psychiatric nurse in Swansea and hopes to join the RAF after he has qualified.
He said: "We thought about applying to the show Don't Tell the Bride but then we saw this competition.
"We would like to get married but we can't afford it. If we could cover the cost of the wedding then we could start to save up for a house."
