THE NHS in Gwent will receive a £10 million funding boost from the Welsh Government to help deal with increased hospital admissions, overstretched A&E departments, and other pressures.

The money is coming from an £82m package of contingency funding for the NHS across Wales, announced by health minister Lesley Griffiths.

Rising emergency admissions, particularly among over-85s, risks disruption to planned services, such as routine operations, and Mrs Griffiths said the money will "allow the NHS to manage current pressures and maintain quality of care."

Will this mean less people will die from negligence and incompetence ? Or will
this situation which is rife across the NHS be covered by the programme of
euthanasia currently hiding under the title
of Liverpool care path ?

Wonder what this will mean to St Woolos, where 1 ward was closed to help pay back money that funded a community care programme to get older people out of hospital earlier and care for them at home, but this isn't a 24 hour service. The ward that has been open almost constantly since staffed by agency and nurse bank staff,
Mmmm how much has been saved??
