FROM traditional bonnet parades to Easter tours, a fun egg-stravaganza awaits children and their parents over the coming week.

Here, we list events set to brighten up the holiday break of thousands of youths at libraries, sports centres and historic venues around Caerphilly borough this Easter.

March 30: Blackwood Showfields Easter Fun Day Teddy bear picnic with rides, fireman Sam and Norman Price in aid of Wales Air Ambulance. 12.30pm

March 31: Caerphilly Castle Come over to Caerphilly Castle this Easter Sunday and join our historical character the third Marquess of Bute on a guided walk around the castle.

A small charge of £2 per adult and £1 concessions will be charged for the tour.

11am-4pm Adults £4.75, family - £14.25, two adults and all children under 16, senior citizens, students and children under 16 - £3.60

March 23: Parc Cwm Darran Have a go at making a kipsie flower basket. Activity takes about 20 minutes. 11am Charge of £2 per basket. Booking required for this event. 01443 875 557

March 30: Cwmcarn Forest Drive Join Rainbow Salts for this new children’s workshop, and create an Easter bunny! You will be filling glass bottles with coloured salts and decorating with bunny ears and noses! Complete your bunny with its own personalised themed tag! Ages six plus. 10am. 01495 272 001
