A MAN has been taken to hospital after a car crashed into the Crumlin RFC building this evening.
A man was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport by ambulance after the crash just before 6pm.
The driver of the car was trapped following the crash and had to be cut free by the fire service.
Emergency services were called to Kendon Road at 5.51pm and the road remains closed while police carry out investigations.
Insp Huw Jones of Gwent Police said a retaining wall of the rugby club was demolished and the male driver of the caer was taken to hospital.
The extent of his injuries are not known at present.
Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Gwent Police on 101, quoting log number 379 of February 1.
