I think we should not be too harsh here. We have limited information, consisting of only what the police want us to hear at this stage and I cannot recall ever being arrested when I went down the newsagent to buy my pack of Brocks bangers and a Catherine wheel. The Brick lane and Admiral Duncan bombs were made from fireworks which were freely available over the counter at that time. The bombs proved highly effective and deadly, in fact, a few people with longer memories may recall that one of the dead was a pregnant woman.
I do however wish that the police would stop this obsession they seem to have of apologising every time they do their job. It never quite sounds sincere, detracts from the main issue and often sounds rather patronising. I would rather them just get on with it and keep us safe.

A big thank you to Gwent Police. It's always better to be safe than sorry. I've seen too many of these scares over here. Agree that Police don't need to apologise, they did a proper job.
