THE PARENTS of missing Newbridge man Kyle Vaughan have spent the 15 months since he went missing spiralling deeper into despair.

Today, they are appealing directly to anyone who may have any information about their son’s disappearance in a heart-wrenching open letter to the people of Gwent.

Gwent Police launched a murder investigation after Mr Vaughan's silver Peugeot 306 was found on the A467 between Risca and Cross Keys on December 30 2012. Eight people were initially arrested in the probe, but no further action will be taken against six of them.

Two men arrested on suspicion of murder are due to answer bail next month.

Last month Mary Vaughan, Kyle’s mum, emotionally revealed to the Argus that she has terminal cancer, and her last wish is to bury her son before she dies.

Now, she and husband Alan, are speaking out in the hope that someone will come forward with information that could help them find their son.

This is their letter:

“To whom it may concern,

We know that there are people reading this who know what happened to our son. Kyle has been missing for 15 months now. For 15 months we have lived a nightmare.

“Not an hour or minute goes by when we don’t think of him. He was our son, Mary’s only child. He was a good boy, funny and charismatic, and he was ours.

“We just want to be put out of our misery – we want to know where our son’s body is. People know, but they aren’t telling us and it is so cruel to keep us in the dark.

“We implore anyone who has even the smallest bit of information, to listen to your conscience and end our suffering. If you don't want to speak to police you can call Crimestoppers completely anonymously – they are even offering a £5,000 reward.

“Mary has terminal cancer and does not know how long she has left. All she wants is to bury her son before she dies.

“The pain we are going through is beyond comprehension. We sit here every day waiting for word our son’s body has been found. But it never happens.

“Every day is a living nightmare and our hearts are broken. It's killing us.

“For closure we need to bury our son. What hurts the most is that there are people out there, reading this right now, who could put us out of our misery. But they are choosing not to. We wouldn’t wish this pain on anyone.

“If you know anything, no matter how small and even if you think it’s not relevant, please pick up the phone and do the right thing so we can finally out our boy to rest, before it’s too late.

“We don’t deserve this. Kyle does not deserve this. He was our boy, he was our life.

"We will never understand why it happened, but you can help put it right, Please, please help us to find our son."

Anyone with any information about Kyle Vaughan's disappearance is urged to call Gwent police on 101 or Crimestoppers completely anonymously on 0800 555 111.

My heart breaks for this couple, and I hope and pray they get closure before Mary passes away, but I fear that the scum who did this and their families have no conscience. I wish it was legal to inject the sods with truth drugs!

The 'not knowing' must be heartbreaking for the family, especially Mary who is terminally ill. Hopefully soon, someone with a conscience, who may know more about this young mans disappearance will come forward and his parents and family can bring closure for their beloved Kyle.

Despicable! Cowards! Someone knows something. If you have any compassion, if you can think what it would be like if it was your loved one, then let this mother bury her son! God Bless you Mary, I pray you can get your peace. xx
