Not a legal requirement, but natural selection will sort the wheat from the chaff or chav as the case may be.

I think they ought to have to wear crash helmet the speed some of the go is disgusting will it have to be a fatality before anything is done. At the end of the day they are on the public highway and should abide by the rules

Instead of changing the law so that riders should wear helmets, they should change it so that quad bikes cannot use the public highways.

You want a four wheel vehicle that doesn't require a helmet? Get a car!

I have seen many idiots on the road riding these even in the country lanes where viability is poor on bends and to my recent shock they also had young children in front of them - so shocking! I was fuming a few months ago when one of these riders took the sharp bend wrong and it was a near miss!!! One thing which is important is that any vehicle must be taxed or for def be insured and I am sure most of them are not insured to be on the road and would guess that the insurance would request head protection.

The are not farm vehicles not used for anything of use just racing around chavs with no common sense.

We get a regular zooming up and down the main road with occasional diversions around the side streets. All at speed. I'm waiting for the day he zooms up our one-way street the wrong way to join the main road ( he does this ) and meets a bin lorry coming down.

.....yesterday around 4.00 .....there were 4 or 5 that passed me at the Old Green roundabout.......see
mingly racing each other.....weaving in and out of the traffic....going the wrong way around a traffic island at the Cenotaph.... how they didn't crash or kill anyone or themselves was a miracle.....as usual no police around when you need one......
which won't be the case in September...when it'll be wall to wall in town.
