THE Blackwood man being held in an Indonesian jail will be released within "five to six weeks", the Argus understands.
Mathew Davies, from the Cefn Fforest area, has been locked up in Cipinang Penitentiary Institution in the country’s capital Jakarta for over three months.
He is understood to have received a six-month sentence and has to serve another five to six weeks.
Lindsay Whittle, Plaid Cymru AM for South Wales East, who had pleaded to the authorities to release him, said: “I’m disappointed that Matthew won’t be home for Christmas but elated that he will soon be reunited with his family.”
