ANEURIN Bevan University Health Board is celebrating this week after winning a hat-trick of NHS Wales awards.
The judges praised the organisation and its staff at the awards ceremony in Cardiff on Wednesday, July 15.
The introduction of a specialist diabetes team to look after emergency diabetic patients won the Improving Patient Safety Award and a new job role which has encouraged recruitment among young people won the Developing a Flexible and Sustainable Workforce Award.
Also named a winner was a new service, developed by Aneurin Bevan with Cardiff and Vale and Velindre NHS Trust, for patients with cancer-associated thrombosis. The service won the Promoting Clinical Research and Application to Practice Award.
Judith Paget, chief executive of Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, said: βTo have three winners out of five Aneurin Bevan University Health Board teams shortlisted shows how our staff members are committed to improving healthcare across Wales.β
