MONMOUTH AM Nick Ramsay is calling on the people of Monmouthshire to contact their energy supplier about installing a smart meter.
With nearly five million smart meters already installed across Great Britain, Mr Ramsay said he “is looking to see the new technology in more homes across the county” after learning about the benefits at a spring forum conference.
Smart meters are said to bring people in Monmouthshire and across the rest of Wales accurate bills at no additional cost.
The meters enable consumers to see how much their next bill will be, and make more conscious choices about their energy use.
Mr Ramsay said: “I am confident that smart meters will give us all more control of what we spend on gas and electricity, and put an end to estimated bills. I was delighted to see how the meters will benefit constituents.”
