UPDATE 10.27pm: BLACKWOOD duo Into The Ark have made it through to the second stage of the final of The Voice, almost reducing their mentor Tom Jones to tears.

Dane Lloyd and Taylor Jones wowed the studio and TV audiences with a heartfelt rendition of Alicia Keys song No-Onebefore teaming up with Jones to belt out a version of the Sam & Dave standard Hold On, I'm Coming.

They were the last of the three acts to be named for tomorrow evening's second stage.

Nails were being bitten to the quick in their hometown as well as across the rest of Wales as the trio going forward to tomorrow night were announced - but it was all smiles afterwards.

Tune in to The Voice tomorrow evening on ITV from 7pm to see how they fare.

MESSAGES of support have flooded in for the Blackwood band taking part in ITV’s The Voice as they battle to reach the final tonight.

Into The Ark, duo Dane Lloyd, 25, and Taylor Jones, 20, chose Tom Jones to be their mentor on the show and will perform tonight alongside three other acts.

Since wowing the judges in their first audition, the acoustic pair have rocketed through the competition with judge Will.i.am even comparing they style to iconic duo Simon and Garfunkel.

The pair have also performed at several events during the competition, from a Newport Now-hosted gig in Newport City Centre to a exclusive show at their former school Islwyn High.

Tonight, a public vote will whittle down four contestants to three, with the winner being announced on Sunday evening following final performances.

Taylor Jones’s former music teacher, Erica Rowlands, has been drumming up support, convincing Islwyn High’s pupils and the wider public to back the boys.

She said: “It’s just ironic when we studied Welsh Music as a topic (in classes) I would show Tom Jones as an example. Now the pair are on stage performing for him.

“Knowing where they’re from is very important to them. They’re not going to forget their roots. We want to see them succeed but they’re already winners to us.”

She added: “We should get behind them. It’s lovely to celebrate someone in our community getting so far and it would mean so much to them.”

Islwyn’s MP, Chris Evans, also offered a message of support for the Into the Ark boys ahead of their performance tonight.

He said: “Good luck boys. It’s fantastic to see local talent being recognised and I know you will do us all very proud.”

In May and June this year. the Blackwood duo will also embark on a UK and Ireland tour and recently added a second date in Cardiff.

Viewers can support Into the Ark for free using the official Voice mobile app or through paid phone lines, the numbers of which announced during the live show.

The Voice will be screened between 8.30am and 10.20pm on ITV tonight and for more information on the show and voting, visit www.itv.com/thevoice
