A MAN accused of attempted murder threatened to get a knife and slit people’s throats before a stabbing, a jury has been told.
Brothers Christopher Trigg, 36, formerly of Risca, and Simon Trigg, 33, of Caerphilly, have pleaded not guilty to attempting to murder Kevin Skye in a street stabbing in Hafodyrynys.
At Cardiff Crown Court today, Zak Clarke told the jury he had been out with his girlfriend Abbie Horler at the Hafodyrynys Inn on Boxing Day last year.
In a recorded police interview shown in court, Mr Clarke said there was an “eerie feeling” in the pub and that it felt as though the two brothers were “looking for trouble.”
Mr Clarke told the court in the interview that as they were leaving the pub, the Trigg brothers passed them and one was heard saying: “I am going to come back with a knife and slit every f***er’s throat.”
Mr Clarke told the court he was walking with his girlfriend when he heard screaming at the time of the stabbing.
When he turned he saw a man with a knife in his right hand.
“I fell over the kerb and onto the grass. I was begging and saying please not me,” Mr Clarke said.
Christopher Trigg has pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm with intent and accepts he stabbed Mr Skye.
Simon Trigg denies both counts of grievous bodily harm and attempted murder.
Proceeding.
