DID you take a picture of last night's Harvest Moon?
The spectacular event refers to the full moon that falls nearest to the autumn equinox, which happened on September 22 this year.
In most years the Harvest Moon appears in September, but every three years it happens in October, as it does in 2017.
The name comes from the days before electric light, when the Harvest Moon would help farmers as they gathered their crops into the night.
