*UPDATE August 19 2019: The dogs have now been re-homed*
Every one of our Twelve Dogs of Christmas was a cute puppy once.
But our twelve dogs are all now in the care of the Newport City Dogs Home. There are as many reasons why people give up their dogs; I haven’t got time, I have a new partner who doesn’t like dogs; I have changed my job; we are having a baby.
Please don’t make a promise you can’t keep. A dog is for life.
A young dog can live for 12-15 years, and if a life-changing event for you means you would abandon your dog at some time in the future, please don’t get a pet. But if you are able to give an abandoned dog a future, please considering taking in a shelter dog.
Be a dog’s destiny. Adopt a homeless dog. And let this be the last time any of these beautiful dogs will spent Christmas day alone in a kennel.
If you’d like to meet any of the beautiful dogs for rehoming please contact Newport City Dogs Home by calling 01633 290 902 between 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 4pm, on weekdays, 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 3.30pm on Saturday. Please note: the home is closed on Sundays. Visitors are welcome to join the staff and volunteers today from midday for teas, coffees and mince pies.
Happy Christmas everyone!
