Blackwood Summer Festival this weekend

THIS weekend the second Blackwood Summer Festival will be taking place on High Street in the town.

Blackwood High Street will be bursting with fun for the whole family this weekend on Saturday June 30 and Sunday July 1.

Last year an estimated 5,000 people braved the weather and enjoy the entertainment which included funfair rides, music, dance and children's costumed characters that all took to the high street delivering a fun packed family themed event, which attracted thousands of visitors.

Due to the massive success its back again for 2012, bringing with it bigger and better attractions for all ages.

Children and the young at heart will be descending on the town centre to meet up with some of TV's most popular children characters, who will be on hand to entertain the masses.

Thrown into the mix will be some high quality children's funfair rides, music, street entertainment, food and craft stalls as well as Punch and Judy, children's workshops and face painting.

The Summer Festival will take place between 9am and 5pm on Saturday June 30 and between 10am and 4pm on Sunday July 1.
