More than 1,000 vote in Caerphilly Flower Festival

MORE than 1,000 people cast their vote for the Wheelbarrow Competition at the annual Caerphilly Flower Festival.

There were 18 entries from schools and organisation across the Caerphilly county borough. 1,145 visitors to the town centre cast their vote at the Visit Caerphilly Tourist Information Centre, as they enjoyed the festivities of the day.

Cwm Glas Infants School came first, with The Twyn School and 1st Maesycwmmer Brownies came second and third respectively. Winners received vouchers to spend at WHsmith and will be presented with certificates at an awards ceremony later in the year.
