Mother’s warning to Caerphilly boy, 16, after thefts

A TEENAGER from Caerphilly county admitted burgling his sister’s house – after previously stealing from his mother.

At Cwmbran Youth Court on Tuesday, the 16-year-old described his behaviour as “completely mad”.

He pleaded guilty to burglary, having entered his sister’s home while she was away in June, taking £300 savings and four games worth £180.

His mother was with him in court and she said he had previously taken goods worth £1,500 from her. She said he would be “on his own” if he did it again.

The games or money were not recovered, with the boy saying: “I sold the games and spent the money stupidly on myself”.

He was given a ten-month referral order and ordered to pay £50 costs, with chairman of the bench Brian White saying: “It’s not fair that I ask for compensation as your mother would have to pay.”
