A CAERPHILLY care home worker is on course to pursue his dream of becoming a male model after reaching the final of Mister Wales.

Luke Bolwell Williams, 24 is among the 30 finalists selected from across Wales by Vibe models to take part in the Grand Final of Mister Wales at Cardiff International Arena on Saturday July 18.

The careworker from Bedwas Road said: "I am nervous about the final as there are quite a few good looking chaps in the running but I am looking forward to going to the CIA and being supported by all my family and friends."

Luke, who ultimately hopes to become the next face of Calvin Klein, was encouraged to enter the competition by family and friends who believe he has the potential to make it as a model.

He was successful at the semi -final stage, beating over 70 other hopefuls and will now take part in the final which includes three rounds: Welsh wear swimwear and evening wear as well as a short interview in front of a panel of judges.

The contestants are encouraged to raise over £500 for the Joshua Foundation; a charity which provides holidays for children with terminal cancer.

Luke has raised over £150 by auctioning himself to the highest bidder at Blackwood Rugby Club and hopes to raise this to over £1500, through holding a car boot sale amongst other fund raising initiatives.

Paula Abbandonato, Director of Vibe Models said: "The winner of Mister Wales will need to be confident, charismatic and intelligent as well as good looking. He will need to be brave enough to take to the stage in front of a 2000 strong audience and 64 gorgeous girls."
