Face up to it

LABOUR’S Education Minister Huw Lewis has apologised for the Welsh Government’s rule over sliding school standards.

Just as former Education Minister Leighton Andrews described the Pisa scores of 2010, “as a wake up call”. Compare the honesty from Mr Lewis and Mr Andrews.

My AM Jeff Cuthbert sings the Elton John song Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word.

He is happy pointing a finger at Plaid Cymru when in government and not manning up to Labour failures. Before you correct a problem, you must be honest with yourself and Wales’ people that you have a problem.

Having watched Mr Lewis trying to become leader of labour in the assembly
it is very clear to me that the downward spiral will continue. On that leadership attempt some wag wrote Nick Bourne the conservative would
have made a better labour leader, he was right.
